I'm serious. I want to, but I don't feel like I have a good enough reason.
Well, I could sit here all day and wax about everything, but I'll keep it direct.
The biggest factors for me were the extreme benefits, good pay, job satisfaction, job security, and the fact that I can retire at 40 years old and never have to work again if I don't want to. I've just joined the Navy and leave for boot camp on August 8th...and I'm already having a blast. Any questions you have, just ask here...recruiters will more than likely try to blow smoke up your ass about certain things and you will believe them if you're not educated.
Because it's just soooo much fun.
don't join. Stay at home. Be free. Make some money and grow out your hair and get a beard.
umm yes, just don't waste your money during the 20 years of service. Put a lot back and make it work for you.
only good reason to join the military is for all the hot chicks that join!!!
404 hot chicks not found.
What else do you have going for you in life ??
Don't do it. Go to college.
There are plenty of grants out there for you. Or just take loans.
Stay home and get laid!
Why would you want to join right now anyways when we could be on the verge of World War III?
I don't know about you, but I don't want to go to war against an actual military. In fact, I don't want to see ANY wars at all happen.
then why are you in the ARMED FORCES?!?!?
Im a GIRL and i deployed for 16 months to Baghdad....
join if you want to- you can always get out, if you dont "adjust to the lifestyle" within 180 days- its a chapter with no discharge so its like you were never in
if you cant get laid while your wearing a uniform? youll never get laid
Do us all a favor and don't. Seriously.
read my post you quoted.
You gotta wash it down somehow.
Everyone in the armed forces wants to go to war?
I'm in the armed forces because I believe it is the right thing to do. Believe me, if I could be sitting at home watching TV all day, I would. I hate everything about the way of life in the military, and I am counting the days (5 years from now) until I get out. Everyday I am on active duty, I am miserable and want to be at home. That being said, I would do it again in a heartbeat, and I would volunteer to go to Iraq again. (I volunteered to go, haven't been yet. In iloc now.)
I can understand how you probably aren't too scared about Iraq. Not knocking women or anything, but how often do women really even go out of the wire? To search women or somthing like that?
given the fact that i was deployed from Apr 2003 until AUgust 2004- and with an infantry unit, i got quite a bit, got injured in an IED explosion, and im still here, not bitching about the fact, for anyone that joined after 2001, and thought they wouldnt go to war? is ignorant. i HATE seeing people come in and being like- oh i joined for college, i joined for health care etc GET A JOB ANYWHER ELSE and youll get the same benefits
you havent been to Iraq- so DONT assume what I did while I was deployed
you should join because you'll be strides ahead of the ones who get drafted
since they needed people out there?
im not trying to be an ueber soldier, but to hear people say i dont like the army because i have to fight- is ridiculous
