She quit at an assisted living place after they cut hours, no raise after a year either. Got a part time job (more dinero) at a similar place, helped me out occasionally, then Covid hit and she was cut loose. But now that Amazon is building a shit ton of fulfillment centers in DFW, she got on there. $15 an hour to start, health/life insurance from day 1, regular raises, she works four 10 hour shifts per week, three days off. Plus her round trip commute will be less than 20 miles. An extra $30,000+ a year will be nice.

Aren't those terrible places to work? Considering how the pandemic is still not close to being under control can't she find a lower paying remote customer service job or something?

Her daughter in law works at one in Grand Prairie and really likes her job. And they are super strict about masks and distancing.
