TECH Windows 7....is it pretty much vista 2.0?

Jtech

On what it should have been? Looks pretty good I think I'll get it when it comes out. How soon does it come out?

a lot of MS OS releases are like that. shit, most OS releases in general are like that. they are evolutionary instead of revolutionary.

vista was revolutionary in the way it handled security (as far as windows is concerned), which is why people complained so much. now that people and software have pretty much adapted to the new security environment there probably won't be as much complaining with windows 7.

Hell, maybe that was their plan all along: overwhelm users with security checks in Vista, so they know how many things they're doing that require admin privileges and so software companies will try to find other ways of doing things, and then release the "real" next version of Windows with a toned-down security system so people will think it's great by comparison.

I have it dual booted with vista, it's been running great so far. It runs a lot faster than vista, people have been installing it on older PC's without running into too much issues.
