how bad is it?
they took out harvesters
EA just churning out another product to make money
Westwood is turning in its grave
and threatening review sites to give it an OK rating... sites are giving it a 70%-ish... users are giving it <40% scores
So far only Gamespot has mentioned that you need to be connected to the internet to play, even single player.
omg, they destroyed the franchise
It's a really shitty DRM technique if you ask me. Not everyone has access to the internet 24/7.
I know that DRM sucks and all, but a game should not be judged so harshly because of it's DRM. It may be annoying but in truth it does not encompass the game.
They will continue to implement more DRM because of Piracy, it sucks...but they feel like they need to do something with the amount of stolen product.
Back on topic...the game does suck. I give it a 70 as well. It took away pretty much everything that made CnC great.
I wish they would've made C&C Generals 2 instead
No resource gathering.
Apparently you can respawn if you get wiped out as well.
It seems like they did a few things to shake it up so its not the exact same game again.
XPlay gave it a 4/5. Game Informer gave it a 7.75/10.
Most reviews seem to be around the 7/10 range except for Gamespy's 2.5/5.
C&C Generals was the last good C&C game.
Silent Hunter 5 Battle of the Atlantic-SKIDROW (PC)
the only C&C game I boot up here and there is red alert
I disliked generals, but I did enjoy the retro CnC3. The last Command and Conquer game that I really fell in love with though has to be the original Red Alert Series.
C&C Zero Hour >* China Inf son
I think the last C&C game I played was Red Alert
The point of my post was not for/against the DRM. My point was after all the Ubi bashing over AC2's DRM the C&C4 method basically goes unnoticed.
Well Ubisoft has been sucking hardcore as of late. They are the worst videogame company in the market in terms of quality and support, right behind Activision.
because it wasn't the first game out with it, and no one gives a shit about c&c 4. a forum full of gamers basically had no idea it was coming out. When I saw it i just thought it was an expansion or something.
You mean they are the worst publisher...yes, yes, they do develop games much like EA, but all in all they fail at everything from QA to marketing. They have very little control, it seems, of their developers. Far too many failed games and if they do not step it up they are going to lose a lot of market share...granted they are ranked the fourth highest publisher, but Take-Two or Sony could easily take that spot from them.
