Very cool slow-motion video showing the path of the shot. The end bit is pretty neat as well
wow how the hell did the camera manage to track the shot in midair?
I saw that on future weapons too. Pretty cool, wonder how many ducks it could take out at once.
is the barrel of the abrams smooth bore or rifled?
The original M1 had a 105mm rifled barrel, but the latter varients all had the 120mm smooth bore.
why? aren't rifled barrels more accurate?
Sweet jesus . That thing could take out so many infantry with one shot.
they may be more acurate but the fin-stabilized saboted rounds loose accuracy in a rifled barrel or so it was explained to me. They did make sabots that had bearing rings so they could be shot out of a rifled barrel without spining the penetrator.
