It's a fresh listing and better equipped than the other 2 that I was debating on - plus it's a 1998 which added more stuff compared to the 1996 ones, but you don't get the cool analog temperature gauge and stuff sadly. But you get the monoblock wheels and other sport package crap. It's private party which I'd prefer since I'd much rather not buy a "classic" car from a dealership and pay thousands in fees on a 25 year old car. Only issue right now is driving the ~75 miles to go see it in this 20 degree weather :hs:

See previous thread: https://offtopic.com/threads/which-90s-convertible-would-you-get.5691701/

Pros:
Has all services done - with records
One owner car
~75k miles
Panoramic Hard Top (not pictured)

Cons:
$3000 to $6000 more than the alternatives
Silver - not an "ideal" color
Has a front plate drilled :hs:
It lived its entire life in Staten Island so it probably smells like old Italian man

I like the silver. That’s the one I’d get.
And just buy some bumper plugs.

I happened to see a green one the other day. Thought about your thread. I was less than excited about the green color in person.

I really like them but the cost if something major mechanically goes wrong will be pretty expensive if you even find the right person to work on it..
there's a highly rated indy MB mechanic in medford apparently, which is why i'm considering a classic benz tbh

If I’m buying a “fun” car then I want it to be fun
i want a convertible that isn't another miata

options do be limited

the green is really nice - i just wish that the green car was a bit less "well used" :hs:

silver is the standard i guess which is what you think of when you see an old SL so it's fine, especially if it's a fully optioned car

Jesus, I sold a '99 I had at auction for like $2200 like a couple months before COVID hit. It was JUST over 100k miles. Interior was rough and needed a battery. I didn't feel like fucking with it anymore. :hsd:

Granted I only had like $1200 in it, but still.

Looks really nice and clean in the pics. If it's been well-maintained and all the trim & little shit is also in good shape, go for it. :bigthumb:
