i remember going from smith to free weight squats, what an ego killer
sounds like the kid needed it
damn, that blows. Its funny when people brag about how much they smith squat and they can't free squat for shit.
im the oppsite...im stronger off the smith
i cant imagine trying to squat with a smith. benching, sure but squats, no thanks.
He won't be able to train for a certain time but he'll have time to work on his judgement...
i have never squatted on the smith, i'm afraid of looking like a faggot
is the smith bar lighter, too?
my smith squat is lower than my freeweight
take a guess.
Do you get more of a workout free & not on a smith because you are using your balancing muscles?
For numerous reasons, yes.
I have only tried to smith squat a few times, and its atleast a hundred pounds lower than my free squat.
every time i learn something i get pissed at the time i lost doing it the wrong way.
smiths are generally counter weighted so the bar "weighs nothing" unless you've got a really shitty one or something.
so much smith hate
i squat more off a smith too..
i had my gf first started on the smith on squats to get the feel of how the movement should/will be. but i personally dont do them unless i was working out with a buddy or so that happens to do smith squats
Ill tell you this though: Smith Machine shrugs > *
i did 225 on a bb, and the other night i tried 225 on smith machine. smith machine was harder + i felt my traps exhausted more.
this line of thinking is so ass-backward
Gonna try it
it doesnt hurt to try.
i would have been then i would have helped him
smith squats tear up my knees
