That sucks dude.
I'm guessing they're going to replace it for you...?
I called tonight and they said they'll send one out right away with the fastest shipping, but i still doubt it will be here tomorrow, which sucks because I paid for two day shipping to begin with. If it comes tomorrow I won't complain, but if it takes more than 1 day I'm going to call back and get refunded for shipping.
If they are liable for it and replace it
If they don't
These things happen though. Shit luck
I have no doubt it'll be replaced. Its just a question of when. I wanted it by tomorrow because I'm shooting events for school all week long and I really wanted to be able to use it.
sorry bro =/
maybe they damaged the cf card
The lady I spoke with said the comments on the package were:
"boxes torn and contents shattered"
i'm guessing the camera got pretty fucked up.
Sorry to hear that man. I'm sure your current rig will be fine for the rest of Greek Week.
it almost made it, what a kick in the pills
Yup, maybe i'll get lucky and it'll come before friday. Who knows.
so THAT'S why you've been talking down the D50 lately.... she's getting replaced...
tell them to take a picture of it.
I guess after seeing some shots from the D300 at 1600, 3200 anything less looks awful.
i love my d50 tho, i'm def keeping it.
Damn man. That really sucks. Thats why I hate shipping anything electronic. I want to send my camera in sometime to get the mirror fix and the extended warranty but I dont want it to break. I suppose I can just get insurance on it though and itll all be ok...
you can take some very useful 3200 ISO pics w/ the D300.
Get ready to re-learn the camera though. Functions are nothing like your D50.
I'm up for the challenge. I didn't know a single thing about SLR cameras when I bought my D50 a a year or two ago.
Boxes torn? Was this through FedEx or UPS?
I've seen UPS drivers do some scary things to boxes in the back of their brown vans.
I think it's odd since the D300 box itself is relatively secure. Flap lock thing and formed cardboard inserts around the body with bubble wrap. Assuming they had that box within a shipping box with air cel packing...
Hopefully they get the new one to you asap. Maybe they'll take better care of this one.
damn man so close! that sucks. Im guessing a fridge fell on it and pancaked it. hopefully itll get replaced soon
That or it could have fallen from a plane. When I worked on the ramp at UPS for 3 years, a lot of loose packages go up in the bellies of those planes. If it was a big one like an Airbus, thats a good 20 foot fall. We had a 40~45inch plasma take a fall one night when it was really windy...Outcome was not good.
I immediately knew it was UPS. UPS is the only company to lose, damage, or otherwise fuckup on the final leg of delivery.
