An $800 interchangeable lens camera with a POINT AND SHOOT SENSOR. Who in the hell thought that was a good idea?

Yeah, see that 8.5mm lens on there? After factoring in the 5.7x crop factor, it's 49mm equivalent.

repost of my post from the chat thread :hsugh:

I was stoked as shit about this b/c a review I found said APS-C 'like' sensor.

Then I realized it was a p&s sensor and the reviewer was an idiot.

Yikes.. I guess the portability and pancake lenses are the best factor, but something like a panasonic tx10 has the same size sensor, stabilising, 12x zoom range (so you don't NEED interchangable lenses) and costs 4x less  Maybe it'll find a niche market of lomography-type people.. but I can't see people running to pay $800 for that :o

NEX-5 wins.

when i saw the picture i thought pentax was jumping into the micro 4/3's game, but no one is going to buy that. i was really hoping it would be a micro4/3's camera because i would love a 8.5mm pancake lens for my ep1. :o

This has been a disappoint from day one. The rumors months ago killed it. I swear Pentax is committing suicide. It's sad. They have a lot of potential.
