Jesus, just buy a fucking air conditioner. Aside from cooler/less humid air, you'll keep your indoor air cleaner. It's 75 inside right now at 9:35 am. You get used to it to some degree. When I'm home, it's shorts, t-shirts, cold water, and fans.
can you at least get a floor standing or window unit?California did a shitty thing regarding solar. They paid a bunch of very comfortable homeowners to install solar which jacking up the electric rates on the rest of us. I'm paying $0.36/kwh now. Fuck those assholes.
think it's time to start looking out of the state bruv, that's not sustainable.![]()
I could, but I don't really trust the wiring in this house enough to put that kind of load on a lighting circuit.can you at least get a floor standing or window unit?![]()
i have 5 ac units in my house. It's 75 inside right now at 9:35 am. You get used to it to some degree. When I'm home, it's shorts, t-shirts, cold water, and fans.
since he's renting though there's a more than decent chance his landlord won't be on board as it'll require permits and possibly a bunch of other stupid california shit on top of the normal permits.

whats the temp when you sleep?I could, but I don't really trust the wiring in this house enough to put that kind of load on a lighting circuit.
Very cool
In my last house I had one in mine and my tenants offices respectively. Literally cut our already tiny electric bill down by 20% due to less strain on the central HVAC.Big fan of mini splits. Wish I had one in my loft area of my condo. Had one in my house for the upstairs bonus room.
i just watched a video of a $26mm 'off grid' mansionIn my last house I had one in mine and my tenants offices respectively. Literally cut our already tiny electric bill down by 20% due to less strain on the central HVAC.
When I build my new house I'm only going with mini-splits.
I'd love to but it's just not feasible now. Too poor to stay, too poor to up and move without winding up under a bridge.
the way my house is gonna be built and the style of house it's going to be I should only be using the mini-split in the deep summer and I should only need a minimum of three and a maximum of five. One in my office, master bedroom, and living room respectively are a must. If I have enough money though I'll put one in each of the two guest rooms till the wife and I decide it's time to adopt or not and turn one into a kid's room.i just watched a video of a $26mm 'off grid' mansion
all the mini split condensors outside lol
Maybe 70-72. The house fan cools things off by bedtime. I have a ceiling fan and a tower fan I turn on when it gets super hot.whats the temp when you sleep?
Yeah when you're renting, neither party has an incentive to spend big bucks on stuff like this.since he's renting though there's a more than decent chance his landlord won't be on board as it'll require permits and possibly a bunch of other stupid california shit on top of the normal permits.
back when I was a landlord I'd have jumped on shit like that because it would have increased the value of the house, but I'm also not in CA and shit is cheaper and works a little different here as far as permitting goes.Yeah when you're renting, neither party has an incentive to spend big bucks on stuff like this.
i wanna install solar to offset the extra electricity im using for the minisplit both in the summer and winter, but im pretty sure it cant pay back, but i also know energy/electricity only gonna get more expensive, it'd be nice to cap my costs goin into retirementthe way my house is gonna be built and the style of house it's going to be I should only be using the mini-split in the deep summer and I should only need a minimum of three and a maximum of five. People throw stupid amounts of money at total shit boxes here so I'm pretty sure lack of a $50k solar, battery, AC system isn't much of a factor.back when I was a landlord I'd have jumped on shit like that because it would have increased the value of the house, but I'm also not in CA and shit is cheaper and works a little different here as far as permitting goes.![]()
at this point I won't live anywhere without a minimum of solar + whole house battery backup.i wanna install solar to offset the extra electricity im using for the minisplit both in the summer and winter, but im pretty sure it cant pay back, but i also know energy/electricity only gonna get more expensive, it'd be nice to cap my costs goin into retirement
but then it would help cover power outtages that are frequent, but still im better off

Its currently 99 in Germany today and no ACAs someone living in AZ hearing about people without AC is always a culture shock.
