we both are apparantly. You keep talking about TV reception and im strictly talking about commercials.

commercials bring costs down.

OTA only works if you are within proximity which is why not everyone is using it. if OTA built more antennas their infrastructure costs would heavily increase and you'd have to pay for OTA.

I literally just dropped my "grandfathered adopter" directv streaming plan because it has went up from like 30 to 130 bucks over the past however many years. And I signed up for youtubetv. And now this price increases. FML lol

I will say youtubetv seems to be the best "bang for the buck" if you go in with people.

As best as I can tell, you can have 5 individual users on youtubetv with their own unlimited dvr at no extra charge. They just have to use the same channels as the account holder.

Works great for me letting my family mooch off me.

you do have to be within range of antenna which is a big part of the problem.
yeah but i live in the suburbs of dallas, not in the middle of nowhere. everything but the bottom two should have worked at my current house, our old apartment years ago, my parents house, etc.

never could get anything to work. i just assumed everyone was in on the joke except me

anything I watch on TV anymore is ad free. Youtube, Hulu, Netflix. No ads in my music either. do you dudes really put up with ads?
cant escape em, product placement is everywhere. Even my cavs have an ad sewn right on their uniform, actually like 3 of them. They're projected all over the court, they're playing on the screens in the arenas. they're everywhere

This hike was expected.
I find YoutubeTV almost a killer app for TV entertainment. The DVR functions, the live offerings and the range of channels serves me almost perfectly. If necessary, I could happily live with this as my sole paid stream offering.

With that said, the pricing is nearing the territory where I refused to continue with traditional cable. Choices will have to be made for when this gets closer to $100 a month.

At this point, the killer app would be YoutubeTV partnering with another big streamer AND Youtube Premium/Music ALL for $100. People would latch onto that.
