tivimate will do recording, haven't tried it in a while
I have nextpvr setup on an old machine to record a few things. with the kodi app you can watch it live and rewind (only rewind what has already been viewed)

catchup provided by iptv subscriptions is always meant as a bonus, it's rarely reliable

Just installed tivimate and setup IPTV. Looks like you can record but you can’t view it while recording

That’s a bummer…I like watching games 30 min in so i can fast forward through the commercials.

I'm happy to pay for unlimited DVR and no buffering. The real benefit with any IP TV service is the ability to switch at a whim. In theory that should create a more efficient market.

Everyone needs a Google account with their own password. The main person subscribing to TV adds them as the Family Manager.
