Maybe I was just the right age to notice, but the news went on and on with TWA flight 800 forever. I get that it was local news and a big story, but they just went on with it for like over a year.

Then 2 months after 9/11 another big plane crashed in NY killing like 300 people and after like 3 days it was out of the news cycle.
